Responsibility for damages and defects
BookingHost is responsible for defects:
- Caused by guest actions, improper use or gross negligence, and not related to normal wear and tear
- Missing tableware or dishes after a guest stay
- Theft of equipment or furnishings during a guest stay
- Making a new set of keys and replacing the lock cylinder after keys are lost by a guest
- Replacing bulbs and remote-control batteries up to 50 PLN
Examples:
- Broken or cracked induction hob
- Damage to furniture or walls caused by impact
- Missing cutlery, pots and pans according to the equipment list
- Stains on the sofa or mattress created during a guest stay
- Apartment flooding caused by a guest, for example leaving water running
- Blinds or shutters damaged by improper use
- Post-warranty appliance or electronics failures if caused by mechanical damage by a guest
The owner is responsible for defects:
- Resulting from natural wear and tear of the property
- Caused by incorrect installation or interior arrangement
- Connected with natural wear of materials and equipment
- Post-warranty appliance or electronics failures without visible damage
- Mowing and watering the lawn
- Replacing bulbs and batteries above 50 PLN
Examples:
- Moldy or peeling silicone around sanitary fixtures
- Misaligned or leaky windows
- Jammed locks or worn lock cylinders
- Leaking siphon due to a worn gasket
- Detached or incorrectly installed curtain rods
- Cracked glass or railings caused by incorrect installation
- Faded furniture and decorative elements
- Scratches and abrasions on floors and countertops caused by normal daily use
- Deposits and damage caused by hard water, for example in the toilet, washing machine or dishwasher
- Defects caused by incorrect installation or connection of appliances or electronics
What is wear and tear?
It is the natural wear of materials and equipment resulting from everyday, proper use.
Examples:
- Loose handles and hinges
- Peeling silicone
- Wall discoloration in places regularly touched by furniture or people
- Wear of appliance components, for example pumps in washing machines or dishwashers
- Loose or detached skirting boards when they were not permanently fixed
